A medical procedure using a focused light beam (laser) to eliminate undesired hair by permanently destroying hair follicles.
What is it?
Professional laser hair removal is the gold standard for permanently eliminating unwanted hair. Ditch the razors, red bumps, repeated waxing appointments, skin irritation and so-so DIY treatments, and say so long to unwanted hair.
Our team can address almost all areas of the body where unwanted hair occurs, including legs, underarms, bikini zone, back, chin, face, arms, hands and feet. Since we have hair in numerous stages of its growth cycle at any time, most patients require between 6 and 8 sessions to fully eradicate hair in a specific area.
What to expect
During your laser hair removal session, your provider directs the laser onto the targeted area of your skin. The hair follicles absorb the laser energy, heating up to a point where they are permanently disabled. Once treated, these follicles are unable to produce hair. Although patients do experience some pain, they report that it's often less than what most people imagine.
Because laser treatments are effective on active hair follicles, multiple sessions are necessary to completely eliminate hair from the area. Schedule your first session with one of our board-certified dermatologists at our Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Elkins, Hurricane, Morgantown, Parkersburg, South Charleston and Wheeling, West Virginia; in Waynesburg and Uniontown, Pennsylvania or in Marietta, Ohio locations.
