Frequently Asked Questions

What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are injectable treatments—like BOTOX, Dysport, Daxxify, and Jeuveau—that temporarily relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. They smooth existing wrinkles and help prevent new lines from forming, giving a refreshed, natural look without surgery.
How long do injectables & fillers last?
Neuromodulators like BOTOX typically last 3–4 months, while dermal fillers last 6–24 months depending on the product and treatment area. Kybella results are permanent once the fat is eliminated.
Are cosmetic injections painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort. To enhance comfort, we offer topical numbing during injections.
What is the downtime after cosmetic injectables?
Downtime is generally minimal. Many people return to normal activities the same day. Mild temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or small injection-site bumps may occur.
How soon will I see results from injectables or fillers?
Neuromodulators begin working in 3–5 days, with full results in 1–2 weeks. Dermal fillers provide instant volume, while Kybella results develop gradually over several weeks as fat dissolves.
Are cosmetic injectables safe?
Yes. BOTOX, Dysport, Daxxify, Jeuveau, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, SKINVIVE, Kysse, Kybella, and many other injectables are FDA-approved and safe when administered by trained professionals.
How do I know which cosmetic treatment is right for me?
Your dermatologist will evaluate your goals, facial anatomy, and treatment preferences to recommend a personalized plan—whether that includes neuromodulators, fillers, Kybella, or a combination.
Can I combine multiple cosmetic treatments in one visit?
Yes. Many patients choose to combine treatments—such as fillers with Botox, or Kybella with jawline contouring—for more comprehensive results. Your cosmetic dermatology provider will ensure the timing is safe and effective.
How should I prepare for my injectable appointment?
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, and other blood-thinning supplements for 24–48 hours beforehand to reduce bruising. Your provider may offer additional preparation guidance based on your treatment plan.
Are the results of Kybella permanent?
Yes. Once Kybella destroys fat cells under the chin, they do not return. Most patients require more than one session to achieve the desired contour.
